What if you had a fire
AND NOBODY CAME?
***
That is exactly what could
happen if the Chambersburg Borough Council follows the
recommendations of the Emergency Services Chief.
***
The Chambersburg Fire
Department is grossly understaffed
and the Emergency Services Chief is recommending eliminating a
Career staffed (24/7) engine company from service, which could
effectively put the lives of you and your neighbors at risk.
***
Join us in protecting the
lives and property of the citizens of the Borough of Chambersburg
by contacting your Elected Officials and letting them know that
you are not in favor of reducing the number of Career staffed
(24/7) engine companies and placing the lives of you and your
neighbors at risk.

WITH
DEEP REGRET
The
officers and members announce the passing of retired IAFF 1813
member, R. Samuel Armstrong on Thursday March 10, 2005.
Sammy joined the local in 1956 and remained on active retried
status since his retirement in September of 1982. Sammy was
best known in recent years as the dedicated driver of the
Jenning's Chevrolet Courtesy Shuttle where he greeted everyone
with a smile. We extend our deepest
sympathy to the Armstrong Family during this difficult time.

SHIFT PLAYS SANTA CLAUS
|

|
Dec 26th -
Members of the "A" Shift set out with the intention of
delivering presents to the children on the pediatric floor of the
Chambersburg Hospital. Prior to the arrival of the crews,
the children had been discharged. Not to be discouraged, the
members headed to the Emergency Department where they found plenty
of children . . . so many in fact, that they had to make
more baskets in a hurry. In true fire service fashion,
"A" shift was able to improvise, adapt, and
overcome. The members would like to wish a speedy recovery
to everyone that we met that day.

SHIFT CELEBRATES THANKSGIVING
1813
Members on the "C" shift started their day with an oven
fire early in the morning.
Fortunately, the scene was safe
at Headquarters Fire Station later in the day.
Local 1813
members prepared quite a feast including Eddie "Bubba"
Royer's best deep fried turkey ever.
It didn't do much for
our performance in our upcoming fitness tests but it was well
worth it.
